It seems the outside lane on 3 and 4 lane motorways are fair game now in a truck. Daily I see it being used, you must too. It wasn’t a thing 5 years ago, why has it become normal?

Wages for class 1 now are a joke, it’s going backwards. The only job offer I have is 14 quid an hour class 1 nights. They make it look better by including holiday pay onto it. But basically it’s 14 an hour, who wants all that responsibility and working nights for that. And this is agency which normally pay more and it’s not even contracted work. And there’s a lot of day work for 13 odd pound per hour. I’m out this game now, can’t even pay bills on that. Earn more driving for Uber or stacking shelves.

Hi guys! I have encountered a strange situation with Speedy Freight when after I have picked up a parcel they have tried to change the delivery address. The thing is that I didn't want to go to the new address (central London) and they have asked to take the parcel back to the original pickup point. They have offered £10 as a cancellation fee (I had the parcel for 6 miles).
How do you proceed in this situation?
How much do you charge?
I've told them that I usually charge at least half of the run but they didn't want to hear about it.

Ok Alton Towers looks like you don’t won’t coaches there anymore with the coach park we are now using if there was a coach fire there would be no chance for any other coaches park by or near it loose hard core under foot for when people are getting off the coaches no signs to direct them to the path way parked like sardines staff not trained when people are getting off the coaches to make sure they are not hit no toilets part from by the park entrance.

Anyone been caught for no seatbelt in a truck is it just a fine or points as well the letter. I’ve had asking to identify myself as the driver is saying between 100-500 fine and up to 6 points was caught by one of them new camera vans with seatbelt and phone cameras.

Going to sound really silly, we are a small scaffolding company who have just recently been granted our O licence. I have done an OLAT course and feel pretty confident in running the transport side of things, but I am so confused by Tacho cards!
Signed up for the first month with Tachomaster, but there are so many options for card readers, USB, ones where you insert the card, ones that do both. Our truck has a digital tachometer. We only have two scaffolders who drive the truck, is the Tachomaster even necessary? Could drivers not just do a print out every week and then every 28 days I can get a printout from the vehicle? We aren’t doing massive trips or long hours just moving our own scaffold from the yard to site or site to side.
Any help would be appreciated to help me get my head around what is actually required. TIA

What, if any is the acceptable time given to the so called end of shift time before ejecting digi card, seems to be some confusion as to whether it’s even a required thing to do. TIA

I am taking a big coach into Blackpool this week for the first time what is the best route into the main coach park from the m55 can you use the Yeadon way as I believe there is a weight restriction on this road and a narrow bridge at the end of it thanks.

Can I ask how common in cab cameras such as samsara are now and how drivers feel about them?

Got to love these idiot drivers that come down the slip roads matching your speed and sitting side by side with you. Then wafting their arms about as if it’s your fault not theirs that they couldn’t get on the carriageway.

We are exhibition contractors and have a fleet of 3.5t vans that transport our own materials and supplies for construction around the UK and Europe.

We currently hold a standard international licence. However as we only transport our own goods, would a restricted licence suffice?

And if so, would we still need to employ a CPC qualified TM?

Not wanting to get driver into trouble but...
He has been given a rest cab not a full sleeper and is being told he has to go overnight in it. Are there any regulations that state sizes of cab or any other requirements that it must have to make it suitable for nights away?

There are still unscrupulous companies trading on the CX platform as my recent experience is anything to go by.
A small van job was posted, 1.5 miles (5 minutes) according to the system. It appealed to me as 5 minutes away from a regular daily job that I do.
Quoted my minimum charge and 2 minutes later got a call offering me the job. I asked the controller what the job involved and was told that it just involved moving a few boxes from their customer’s office to a residential address and that the job wouldn’t take longer than 15 minutes which was why l quoted on the job in the first place due to the regular booking that l had!
Anyway l turn up, meet their customer who looks at my van and goes ‘ape’ saying that my van was too small!
I was taken to where the goods were only to find that it was the entire contents of their customer’s office included a big filing cabinet that needed moving!
Obviously it wouldn’t all fit in my van and would have taken me a lot longer to do the job even if...

Just curious what other people would do in this situation. Get to your destination, greeted by a parking attendant that tells you to go straight up the drive to the next parking attendant. You drive up and then are met with this bridge with a weight limit. There's been no turnings off and can see coaches parked further up......I drove over the bridge and when I got to the next parking attendant I asked if I had done the right by driving over the bridge. I was told yes just ignore the signs, coaches go over it and it's not collapsed.

Anyone know where I can get 2 modules for CPC please as finding it difficult to find any availability.
