Hi All. I suspect I know the answer but when you’re applying for an operator licence online, does the newspaper advert still need to be a physical copy, or can you download the relevant page from the papers website? Always had a physical copy in the past but the guidance seems outdated. Thanks All

unladen weight of the towing vehicle has to be below 2040 KG, which rules out a lot of 4x4’s. Not all though mate. Still plenty out there and an ideal solution for this scenario. Probably a good idea to hire an external TM initially to get you on your feet whilst you do your training then take it over once you’re qualified. The qualification doesn’t necessarily tell you everything you need to be doing on a day to day

If he’s doing a manual entry to show rest over his days off, which he should be, then that’s essentially a legal declaration he hasn’t done any other work. That’s you covered. You can’t expect to control everything he does on his days off as long as he knows where he stands it’s not your issue 🤷‍♂️

Driver 1 just carries on as he normally would. Second man doesn’t need to effect his shift pattern. The requirement for the other driver to join within an hour is just to qualify for the extended working day, doesn’t stop them for double manning at any point throughout the shift

If it’s an XL trailer you will have signs on it saying so. If it is then probably don’t need additional straps if it’s a...
