Re: We are moving company and have put our van driver through class 2 training and test and paid for all the expenses.

Unfortunately nothing you can really do post training however I would look at the contracts of all your employees and maybe have a clause regarding training paid for by the company. If an employee was to leave before a certain period (defined by you) then they are to pay back costs on a sliding sca...

I have done this in my past and drivers threatened to pull me to tribunal courts for literally £300 quid. Their a...

Re: GOOD MORNING ALL. What is going on in our industry? More companies going in to administration.

Surprised at how many answer on here that drivers wages are too high ifyou take the fabled £1000.00 pw and a low average 60 hours per week that's £16.66 per hour. I would suggest a lot of drivers do more hours and get paid less . £1000.00 by the time you take , tax , nhi and pension contributions ,...

Re: GOOD MORNING ALL. What is going on in our industry? More companies going in to administration.

Drivers wanting £1k per week for minimum hours. Companies wanting dvrs to do 15hr gold service days. Drivers refusing to provide customer service because they're expected to carry on smiling 5hrs daily for their £1k per week as professionals. Surprised at how many answer on here that drivers wages ...

Re: GOOD MORNING ALL. What is going on in our industry? More companies going in to administration.

that’s not exactly true though is it, I’m doing a load for Stobart (Culina) on Saturday morning Rugby to Reading £400. 80 miles £5 per mile and 6 hours work which I’m not going to complain about so can’t be them to blame if you ask me. The people to blame are freight forwarders and the east Europea...

Re: Email from transport manager claiming I had an infringement for working 7 hours 28 mins and only taking 21 min break

comparing your shift and the break times, I think you are within the law. At no time did you work more than 6 hours without a 15 min break and you had your 45 min required to cover the whole shift length. 🤔

I saw jack Richard's advertising for 6on6off that looks amazing on paper.
Yrs ago I did 4on4off continental shift swapping from days to nights each time. Was great going from days to come back on nights.

Ask about getting a job in France and someone will bang on about their version of cpc which is pass or fail, and out in the yard completing practical activities. Sounds more beneficial than sitting in a terrapin, dying from PowerPoint pox

Strap every pallet and cross the rear straps on the rear pallets So 24pt load on XL trailer carrying 1000kg pallets, you just cross internals on the rear! not what I said or meant. If I’d wanted to type an essay I could easily have written 200 words on the subject but who would have read that? Just...

Re: With a severe shortage of lorry drivers should the CPC be scrapped? Then they brought in CPC for both Coach and

When the cpc was introduced yes most of it was nonsense. I’m a believer in the cpc as I believe refreshing memory on certain subjects is no bad thing for new or experienced drivers alike. As they say every day is a school day in the profession but the same refresher 5 times over - what’s that all a...
