and only extended with your permission. A manager cannot plan a 10 hour day for you says who? Where in the rules does it say you can't be planned for upto a 10 hour drive? Whilst I agree it should be at the drivers discretion it is still legal to plan for if your manager plans a 10 hour day, he’s a...

Yes exceptional circumstances, but there is no reference to international work only. yes so daily drive time is still 9 hours extended to 10 twice a week....however in exceptional circumstances you may exceed this !!! But it's still 9 hours and 10 hours and only extended with your permission. A man...

I remember an Irish driver telling me that they weren’t happy if they weren’t breaking the rules. oh yes them lads certainly know how to bend the rules strangely genuine and honest when you get to know them, considering…… I recently had a mate work for them hence above post, much against advice of ...

Re: Dropped Trailer
Why was the tug not fitted with a lock indicator? I've been a shunter many times over the years and 99% are fitted with indicators Is it a proper tug or a converted tractor unit? If its a tractor unit with standard 5th wheel a visual check should have been made before pulling away however if its a p...

Re: Dropped Trailer
as mentioned irrespective of 5th wheel type a visual check should be made to ensure 5th wheel is locked. Even more so on a hydraulic 5th wheel with no handle. If a king pin skips the 5th wheel jaws you would still see the king pin in front of the 5th wheel. yes but how many tug drivers do a tug tes...

Re: Dropped Trailer
irrespective of what type of tractor being used if the king pin jumped the 5th wheel the king pin would be clearly visible at the front of the 5th wheel have you actually used a terberg type unit with hydrolic 5ty wheel? They don't have a pull handle as mentioned irrespective of 5th wheel type a vi...

Re: Dropped Trailer
Irrespective of not having an indicator a visual check should always be made. Should he have got out and looked at the 5th wheel plate he would have seen the king pin of the trailers was in fact at the front of the fifth wheel. As improper checks were carried out I would treat this as a serious bre...

Re: Can someone confirm, got a new transport manager just passed his course who has never been a driver or involved in
About rite companies taking TM's on that don't onow one end of a wagon to another Another that's learnt all they know from a book instead of the hard way of doing the job there are plenty of very good TMs who have learnt that way. Having done the job doesn't necessarily make you a good manager. It ...
