I've been driving coming up 5 years. I only do it part time but I love it. I was out driving some oldies last night to some sort of ceilidh and they were good craic. I got a 40 quid tip at the end of the night which was really good of them.

why only part time ??

I intended to work at it full time but covid hit in 2019 when I passed my test and I ended up staying in my full time job cos the coach industry got decimated.

Once covid eventually settled I ended up in another really good job which pays more than driving and the shifts are good with good benefits so I decided to stay put. I drive now to pay for the nice stuff like holidays etc.

it was with the local Council but I work within the Marine industry now.
I'm in Scotland. I get a really good rate. Antisocial hours and weekends are £13 an hour and the rest £11.50.

I enjoy driving so at least if I do it part time and keep it varied then I'll continue to enjoy it.
I work for a really good company. I did a run last night to Oban and the boss gave me money for my dinner and told me to keep the change. There was a fair bit of change

Enjoy your time. Be patient in traffic if in doubt stop if its safe to do so. Best job I have ever had and am still driving.

This is the only job I know where being early is a bad thing but being late is ok. It took me ages to get that into my head! Also, don’t forget that no matter what iBus say, you are the one in control of your bus, not them. Your license will be at risk if you’re done speeding, not theirs.

They can’t see the road conditions in front of you no matter how accurate their google maps traffic simulator thing is. Take your time, don’t take risks with narrow gaps if you’re not sure, and don’t forget that you’re still getting the same money whether you’re busting a gut or chilling. If you’re chilled, you’re more likely to enjoy it.
