yep. Can sometimes get a good one or if a run works in with something else you're doing but mostly not worth it.

I haven't worked for them as an OD I have done work for others for them. The rates are shocking. I'm seeing loads of trucks coming up for sale now. Usually foreign sounding names that appear to be packing in. Wish I had the cash to buy a few more trucks lol

he won't be guaranteed that but will probably get that for a 5 day tramping tour. Doesn't sound a lot but will probably only burn a piss pot of diesel as he will be sat around most of the time playing with himself

I've never worked for Amazon and have no idea how their system works, but the question is why are Amazon offering work at these rates in the first place? That's just exploitation and if it's one of their regular contractors how can they justify treating them like this? Nobody knows better than me the shoddy way these large companies treat their contractors but how the hell can they expect customer service, loyalty and a decent reputation if they treat people this way?

96ppm isn't enough really on euro 6 trucks taking parts and running costs into consideration. These rates are for old euro 4 and 5 lorry's.

my lorry is rented. I’ve had it 14 months. I know exactly what it costs, and what it needs to earn for me to be comfortable. Price is the price. Take it or leave it. If people keep working for fuck all we’ve got no hope

have you seen that company offering lorries for rent with insurance? Can’t see that being a good thing. Can see it being parked outside an Amazon depot though

Don’t get the Amazon set up but the rates seem ridiculous in comparison general haulage, if I quoted those rates to my subbies they would in no polite manner tell me to do one.
