Re: how much cost insurance per year for tractor unit
4-8, I paid 4800 friend of mine 7200.. depend what You need how old are u etc as well how many drivers
im 28 ... but im thinking of starting something in next few years for now i just want to get an idea in my mind.
Big question what are you pulling behind it pulling ton bags of sand will be a lot cheaper than pulling hazardous goods or high value goods.
of course aint doing ADR for now more like general haulage
another big one question in my head is.. Once i will have operator license and own tractor unit how i could get job? I bet its not like in game that you pull to any company and pick up a trailer?
it is a case of getting your name out there. Word of mouth is still king in my book.
Although I am not a haulage man I deliver oil a my sign writen truck dose get me a lot of work.
Also value and model of the vehicle where’s it parked what’s the security like will you have any limits on things like drivers age
But think in the thousands not hundreds
Depending on truck and area 6500-7500 average first year
truck wise im looking for something older more likely 12 plates + - to start with and then i will see
then about 4000-5000 depends what area?
Brokers are saying the lowest anyone is getting a 44t at the moment is between 4k and 5k per. That's with claims experience and good history.
As a new start up you are looking at between 5.5k to 9k per. Depending on your requirements. Fleet size. Driver experience. Type of work. Where you are running. Whether the driver can offer any kind of no claims letter from a previous employer.
It's a complex thing that takes them a lot of time to quote which is why they won't engage unless they have a serious chance of turning it over.

get a good Transport Manager with contacts in the industry who knows where to start you
This is why it can be worth paying more for experienced and capable TMs. Networks are everything.
I’m paying £20k for two trucks and two vans
