Worked in steel manufacturing for about 15 years give or take, company put me through my class 2 and next month my class 1,money won't change from when I was on the shop floor but these days I don't fall asleep soon as I've got home. i actually enjoy my job now, you can keep your shop floor jobs ill drive for whatever money I can make, id be happy on 14 p/h

It’s pretty clear truckers need to be paid minimum £20 p/h, given the huge responsibilities that are constantly placed on your shoulders each year with ever increasing restrictions on roads, cyclists having more rights than anyone else now, and nothing being done to help us, tacho card restrictions that should just be a flat 5 hours of driving and work combined, cause Idk about you, but after pulling 5 one tonne pallets up a slope I’m wheezing but would only constitute a 15 min break ??? So pretty much agree it should be way more than what it is. But will have to see if companies willing to pay the wages we’ve been owed for years now

been drive hgv class 1 for 18 years and I've never been payed to sit there no wages at all and had to pay for training my self expect universal credit pay for training because I resigned from the job to get it

well that one of the reasons I resigned it's always cost me by universal credit payed me back for 4 training courses once
