It's harder now than it was back in the 90s, when you could reverse with an empty flat bed trailer and a window in the back of the cab.

The doctors, solicitors , engineers? No , are the school drop outs, ex convicts , lazy , not the smartest ones . u go to agency for rates they advertise to bring u in .. I done 51years on the road I took the good with the bad driven all sorts international low loaders tilt’s fridges some money was poor and some great had to retire at 73 with a heart problem otherwise I would still be out there when your a proper driver you make your own way of life

Yeah unfortunately I fell for this, spent thousands on getting my class 1 license only to find (even a year later) no company wants to f**king touch me because of lack of experience, yet agencies just expect you to go into work like you know everything without any training outside of the driving school and I don't expect mega money either as long as I'm getting £12 an hour as that's what I'm currently on working 4 on 4 off in security

Only half decent wage is driver + (cagework/handballs/any other manual worker). Or if you got a chance on petrol tankers or similar.

Hours ,pay,lifestyle plus the younger generation have no work ethic like previous generation .
