Must be individual pay per contract. The class 2 Costa contract round my way pays £16 ph basic on days.
Re: Hello everyone, Is it common knowledge that XPO pay peanuts?
Nights as well that’s shocking
Re: Hello everyone, Is it common knowledge that XPO pay peanuts?
Obviously differs on each contract but that's terrible

Work life balance is mentioned on the 16.00 until 04.00, 5 days a week shift pattern
Re: Hello everyone, Is it common knowledge that XPO pay peanuts?
Am I right in thinking that's just about less than 500 a week take home on your basic?

nope 625 a week on 50 hours
Another £105 on nights out and £93 a week bonus so roughly £850. Tbh not bad pay that if you only do 1600 to 0400.. and they pay your dcpc. + loads of discounts in shops.

Xpo & Gxo are the same company
My pal works at GXO doing class 1 and I showed him these salaries at the start of the year as I was interested till I seen them
he said those salaries aren’t correct, he was on £40k at the start of the year and his days sounded lovely

Re: Hello everyone, Is it common knowledge that XPO pay peanuts?
Might not be everyone’s cuppa tea, the £1500 a week lads may turn there nose up at it but someone trying to get a step on the ladder into the industry and gain that mythical 2 years experience may take it for a year or two. Everyone is always quick to have a go at the wages companies advertise but I’m yet to see any driver post 4/5 consecutive wage slips of there £1000 a week, fair play if that’s what your on but as I said it may be a stepping stone for a new starter. absolutely agree, yes most companies could pay more but how have gone to wall in the past year. Get a driver maxing his hours and he can earn a good wage while the truck is being productive.

100% right, there’s still plenty of good firms out there who pay decent wages for a fair days work without being worked into an early grave.KeChamp wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 12:40 pmit’s all about planning.

I do bitumen emulsion off for 2 days rest now, paid at £ 16.09 an hour, £39.30 night out parking paid for, time and half after 8 hors a day and all day Saturday, Sunday double time, over a £1000 a week topline this year and we are quietwaing_sav wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 12:42 pmwe all started somewhere and certainly not on £1000 a week and definitely not with 2yrs experience. for bitumen work which I’d say (correct me if I’m wrong) is tanker work , which has always paid well. Never said there isn’t well paid jobs my point was don’t criticize a job that someone may need to get on the ladder, there’s not many jobs out there that pay £1000 week in week out.otiss2577 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 12:44 pmI do bitumen emulsion off for 2 days rest now, paid at £ 16.09 an hour, £39.30 night out parking paid for, time and half after 8 hors a day and all day Saturday, Sunday double time, over a £1000 a week topline this year and we are quietwaing_sav wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 12:42 pmwe all started somewhere and certainly not on £1000 a week and definitely not with 2yrs experience. we all started somewhere and certainly not on £1000 a week and definitely not with 2yrs experience. I’ll stand by what I say if your going to give it the big one about earning £1200 a week then at least have the balls to post 4/5 consecutive wage slips and shut me up. £1000 a week doesn’t come off the back of a 55hr week I no that much

I thought it might be, tanker work seems to be where the decent money is at the minute.otiss2577 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 12:45 pmnot criticism, I agree it's a tall ladder, I do emulsion mainly non hazardous yes in a tankerwaing_sav wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 12:45 pmfor bitumen work which I’d say (correct me if I’m wrong) is tanker work , which has always paid well. £1000 a week before deductions or after? Because I'm sure if its £1000 a week after deductions most drivers here will be on thatwaing_sav wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 12:39 pm Might not be everyone’s cuppa tea, the £1500 a week lads may turn there nose up at it but someone trying to get a step on the ladder into the industry and gain that mythical 2 years experience may take it for a year or two. is personally would say take home in the bank, but all these driver on here giving it the big one are still yet to back up there £1000 a week in week out job with wage slips. Very easy to criticize a company for what they pay and slag it off and give it “I don’t get out of bed for that” speech. Nobody’s saying they don’t exist but again I’ll stand by what I said £1000 a week ain’t for 55hrs Monday - Friday if it is then drop me a job applicationMayoGGico wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 12:48 pm£1000 a week before deductions or after? a grand a week used to be good now a grand a week in London gets you no where! We were earning that 20 years ago in London on the agency it was a lot back then. People must be doing 2 grand a week by now!?!waing_sav wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 12:49 pmis personally would say take home in the bank, but all these driver on here giving it the big one are still yet to back up there £1000 a week in week out job with wage slips. No Driver is going to post their wages slip on here if they are on £1000+ per week, why would they want everyone chasing after their job with the boss knowing there's hundreds of applicant's waiting to fill your shoes. There's a reason BOC Drivers don't post wages on here.waing_sav wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 12:39 pm Might not be everyone’s cuppa tea, the £1500 a week lads may turn there nose up at it but someone trying to get a step on the ladder into the industry and gain that mythical 2 years experience may take it for a year or two. you’re probably right, but it’s normally the drivers on big money coming on slating the wages companies are offering. Once again I’ll stand by what I said it may not be for everyone but someone may need a job or a step on the ladder. We all know which companies pay big money, BOC, Brenntag etc but when you look at those jobs you’ll find 99% of them are very specific ie tanker, ADR etc not many pay top money in general haulageNickineeWEB wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 12:50 pmNo Driver is going to post their wages slip on here if they are on £1000+ per week, why would they want everyone chasing after their job with the boss knowing there's hundreds of applicant's waiting to fill your shoes. if you want a decent living out of HGV work then avoid general haulage companies, the margins are to tight with Drivers wages being the easy target. Work for a company that needs haulage for it's products. There's a few companies out there that pay very decent money, when you know you know.waing_sav wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 12:39 pm Might not be everyone’s cuppa tea, the £1500 a week lads may turn there nose up at it but someone trying to get a step on the ladder into the industry and gain that mythical 2 years experience may take it for a year or two.
