Sorry if this has been asked, I took my transport managers CPC about 15months ago. The company I work for have never given me any training so I have no idea. For some reason they have appointed a new T.M so it looks like I’m not going to get any training where do I start to get any experience or try to get into management. Thanks in advance.

Johnjon, sadly, whilst it does prove a decent understanding of a wide range of subjects, you really will need quite a lot of further guidance to actually do the job.

To be honest I know exactly how your feeling, I did my TM CPC when I was still driving as an opportunity to do it arose. It wasn’t till 5 years later I started to use it by getting a job as a transport supervisor, I did that for around 1.5yrs then a position presented itself as a TM which I took.
I would say look for a transport supervisor role get some experience under your belt just working in a transport office then look to progress when your ready

I would be asking why the post wasn't advertised. Most companies oblige themselves to advertise jobs internally as well as externally.

You could start your transport manager journey by becoming a freelance transport manager, start with a small operator (one where the OCRS scores are in the green) there are a couple of facebook groups where you can register, search freelance transport managers on facebook, you will find companies looking for a freelance TM, you can start here by registering on this group https://www.facebook.com/groups/jobsinlogistics
