Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
Dear Sir/Madam. Can't even be bothered addressing them to our names even though they obviously have them all on file. Says everything about this government.
Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
it's just a generic letter that they have done as a mailshot to every HGV licence holder in the country.
Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
how much has this cost and how desperate are they
Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
And how much time the DVLA has wasted sending them out when their time could have been invested much more profitably by processing licence renewals for those who have clearly indicated that they want to be out there doing the job!!
Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
I had one of these this morning...
Being guilt-tripped into going back to truck driving by a Baroness...!!!???

Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
Bigger question is why are they using are details other than what they are supposed to be used for. I am sure I didn't agree to receive begging letters from them.
Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
Why haven't they scraped the CPC if they are so despite to get drivers in lorries?
Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
yet they scraped the trailer test which was a proper driving test.
The stupid thing is that as a ADR driver I do Three days when I do my ADR and my petroleum driver passport renewal is one day every 5 years so a one day first aid course and I have got the lot.
Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
I get where you are coming from because all that training is all 100% relervent to your job which is what any training should be and I do think it should be counted towards your DCPC. Unfortunately, not everyone has to do that amount of retraining and there are a lot of companies where drivers just get thrown a set of keys and told to crack on with no training hence the introduction of the DCPC.jonathro wrote: ↑Tue Jun 21, 2022 1:22 pmyet they scraped the trailer test which was a proper driving test.

Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
how about making it mandatory for All transport companies to train their drivers and make it an offence not to. It would do a lot more good than the dcpc...but of course there's no money in that!
Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
How would they monitor that all companies are training the drivers if it was not held on a central database?
Companies can already choose to become a DCPC centre and train someone internally to train the drivers and they can even develop and have their own specific courses approved to ensure the quality of the training but most companies prefer to contract it out.
Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
If they checked the system before sending mine they would see that I’m still awaiting my renewal which will be sent in July and expired in September

if you passed your medical can keep driving under section 88/6 of the road traffic act. Search Google for Section 88 DVLA
Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
yes that’s done but if I was wanting to change jobs I’d be better off with my license also considering that it was sent 2 months priorJacekPaper wrote: ↑Tue Jun 21, 2022 1:30 pmif you passed your medical can keep driving under section 88/6 of the road traffic act. Search Google for Section 88 DVLA

Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
Sort your DVLA medical dept out and I would be more than happy to return.
I’m sure there are many thousand hgv drivers more than happy to work if you could sort this dysfunctional disgrace of a department!!

Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
How about the DVLA pulls their finger out and returns people’s provisionals promptly instead of making them wait months so before they can do their tests
Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
What a waste of money and paper.
Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
I am 70 and still got one but now I am Just an ETM. So sorry Bors can't help.
Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
I put mine in the bin
Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
I read mine and it made me laugh
What is this going to achieve drumming up work for the RHA and FTA no mention of better working conditions or infrastructure for lorry’s

Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
Received mine, it made me laugh. Currently a class 1 driver also tm exam passed earlier this year, also helping out at work on compliance side. Our boss quashed ideas of a payrise when it was mentioned
Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
I’ve trying to pass since 2019 for class 1. 2 time deep fog - cancelled by. Them. 3 times Covid cancelled. Last time they cancelled 5 mins before on DVSA yard because one of them was sick… this is killing at all (((

Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
It’s great until they get the amount of drivers they need then all extra pay and perks will go again
Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
Loads of people had them won't make any difference
Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
Got one sent to me ….. except I’m in Canada
Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
I have not got one and is shame then I will add few comments with pictures showing how many fake adverts are everywhere fake contracts and what a hourly pay are for bin lorry £11.34 ! or tanker £12.45 with those regulated work times 70-90h all weekends in, dancing in rain..
Re: Hello mate! I can't see these letters working.
All this going on is pretty much shit from cov I hold my adr and tanker for over 3 years and still looking for tanker job I keep applying almost every single day and no chance yet what a time and money waste
