Post by Domintant »

Hi
I’m wondering what unit and mpg you’re all getting on heavy taught liner motorway work?
We are using a 66 Reg Renault T460 11 liter at the moment and getting 7.7-8mpg every week over 1600 miles, running at 42-44t.
Could we expect any improvements from a newer, 13 liter engine, 500bhp unit, based in north east so across the 62 fairly regularly.

Must get a top end set up etc and get a laptop on it for some fine tuning

modern trucks come a long way in 22 years nobby government don't want you getting good fuel returns or you wouldn't buy as much fuel and they wouldn't get half the £££ in tax

Been a very light round trip and she just keeps giving , wonder where it will end , if I’m very careful I normally can get 10.5 mpg
The 143 struggled to get 7 mpg , so if I go slowly all week with man I get Fridays work fuel free, I put 300 lts in a day with the 143, on the same work th man uses 250 a day

I used to work for companies who, let's say, offered very generous fuel bonuses... 😉 That's why I learnt how to save juice 😂
