Store deliveries are what I've found to be okay and working nights.

any stores really. Personally I work for a motor factor. No nights out, finish shift and go home every day and work nights so empty road. Only down side is its tail lift work but even the heaviest of cages aren't that much hard work.

I’m a subcontractor for home bargains. We run from Liverpool to the north east. 1 sometimes 2 stores and back. I’m nights but only 2 of my 4 are finishing after midnight. Nice and easy.

not sure why it’s easy store deliveries and only local. 4 on 4 off and 37k days and 46k nights 11 and 3/4 hour shifts.

no idea pal. Do you speak to any of the drivers who left your place to go there? I think you just have to check their website.
oh and the union has just negotiated a 6% pay rise this year and same next so about 50k for nights 4 on 4 off 🤩

How are they to cooperate with? Continuous contract or ad hoc?

we had same dairy shut 15 of our drivers moved down road to home and bargain including me 6 months later 1 left, the job was awful management even worse doesn't matter how much they pay wasn't worth it.

13:00 starts store work, agency is best for work life balance. I do 16:00 in the afternoon usually finished before 02:30 go bed get up at 9, walk dog, go gym, do some other stuff then go to work for 16:00 again. It'd great 👌🏼

he does salvage stuff, picking up write offs, I used to do the same thing for Synetiq tho I used to work for Viridor running out of a yard just down the road from where KevTee is based for Trent’s, claim to fame lol. 99.9% of the stuff I pick up gets repaired and goes back, I have a winch but I’ve never used it, most I get involved with is a couple of jump starts a year 😂

Tippers/Grabs. I'm on a grab, mon-fri. No weekends at all unless I want a Saturday morning overtime. I average 10 hrs a day, start at 6am, usually finished around 4pm. Home before 5. 😊

Trunking I'd say, I do nights for DX, trailer down from Burnley to Willenhall, wait for return whilst having a brew and chat, bring one back, then home, kids have grown up, so no drama, no Mrs, well, that lives with me, do a bit of spannering during the day in my garage, jobs a good un 👍

Work for agency and try all the different options available. You'll find what you're looking for.

Night trunking is the best driving job I've found for work/life balance. Takes a certain person admittedly but I don't think I'll change to any other type of lorry driving job
