Douchebag time. Question: An owner operator must have a margin on their new O licence for 1 truck AND 1 TRAILER if they are pulling someone else's trailer as a subbie traction only? Correct?

Only need margin for the trailer. Its recommended to have margin for a number of vehicles incase you have to hire one in to cover a breakdown but no requirement

If you only put An ad in the paper for one unit and no trailer you must still ask for trailer on the o licence application and state that you will never take a trailer to operating centre

Are u goin to drive around solo all day ? No !
Therefore even tho the trailers u pull don’t need to be specified on licence if not same trailer for more than 28 days. Which it won’t be !
Then u are still responsible for that trailer as an operator so you need licence to be one vehicle one trailer
Ideally u want a margin
There is no requirement for further funding to have trailers so why wouldn’t you just do it any way

Interesting.
What about trailers used on international work? They are registered and specified on an O licence. A trailer cant be on more than one O licence at the same time so if your pulling one for somebody else it has to be on their O licence not yours.
Or am I wrong?
