Your costs per mile plus crossing cost multiplied by profit margin needed

Factor in ferry, fuel, tolls, hotel, food and contingency money because breakdown cover isn't always great

PHASE 1. Simple, add up all the standing and running costs on a brand new V8 Scania, get out some smelling salts until the dizziness abates, rip up the paper for the Scania and work out the standing and running costs on a 15 year old Iveco 420. Deduct 30% for your profit. Realise that no one will pay you anywhere near that amount because Waberer and LKW Walter can get thousands of badly trained morons to work for Eastern European minimum wage. Good luck! PHASE 2. When the money runs out, the credit and fuel cards are maxed out, the finance company are chasing four months payments plus interest on the now 16 year old Iveco and two old trailers you've 'bought' and your outside transport manager has resigned because the business is flagging up two reds with DVSA, simply park the lorry and trailers on an industrial estate just outside Bedworth, take what's left of your bounceback loan and catch a ferry back to Eastern Europe or wherever without leaving a single trace.

Consider the following when tendering or bidding:
1.Type of vehicle
2.type of cargo
3. Transit time and lane
4. How many vehicles/ lanes you can cover
5. If need the price of tolls/ tunnels use softwares to generate then
