Break it down to a 50 hour week and it works out at £12.45 an hour for a 10 hour day or £12.87 for a 12 hour day. That is including the driver retention bonus so you have to do 6 months to get that rate. Yeah it is pretty piss poor really.

Just got to laugh at these rates, especially £3 pound meal allowance, doesn't even get you a meal deal of dry sandwich, bag of chrisps and a small vbottle off pop.

class 2 on tankers, similar work, I'm on £14.30 basic. £20.02 after 40 hours and first 4 hours of a Saturday then £25.74 Sundays, bank holidays and after the 4 hours on a Saturday. Nights out you get digs and £30. I'm happy with that

Oh be still my beating heart a whole £3.00 meal allowance, that won't even buy a sandwich on the motorway. If they paid a fair wage they will find they don't need to pay a retention bonus, I hope no one applies and they wake up to the problem they are causing themselves.

Since moving from kent to south wales, I can see someone taking that at £10.50 per hour, I’m just glad I don’t drive trucks anymore, but here there is so many on benefits system, the welsh government give you everything, the wife and I laugh at the way it is here, the wife started a new job a couple of months ago, just a little part time job to pay for holiday and stuff, when she got paid after the first week, her money was wrong, when questioned the owner, she was told I don’t pay the minimum wage (at the £9.50) she only paid £9, the wife told her to poke the job, but then the owner agreed to pay the right rate, it’s the way the welsh seem to work, pay as cheap as you can, cut costs and don’t give a good service.

10.50 is minimum wage and I've never worked in a warehouse that didn't do time and half after 40 or so hours, never understand how companies can expect someone to sink 3 and half grand into training and then take full responsibility of a 44 tonne machine for the lowest wage they can give you
