I have just gotten an infringement, and I think it’s wrong, so after some advice please.

I started work at 08:30 and had a 15 minute break at 10:00, I then had a 30 minute break at 15:30, and was given an infringement for breaking the WTD.

Now I always believed that if you had a 15 minute break that extended your 6 hours working (not driving) time to 9 hours, and before that 9 hours was up you had to have a second 15 minute break, totalling 30 minutes.

Have I got this wrong? Or is the infringement wrong?

Probably a silly question to some but I have been asked to start work at 4:15am, so what time am I to finish then? as never had to start this early at all normal start time is 6.

Anyone encountered this? New TM only looks after 7 vehicles over all 4 companies.. 🤔

I am a transport manager and occasionally drive can i keep my records on my weekly time sheet of my activities when not driving or do i need to do manual entries when i insert tacho i may only drive once in a fortnight only very short journeys

Right here goes hopefully a quick 1 on wtd.
So 6 hours working time. 15 break but you have 45. Then 6 1/2 working time so 12n half hour shift with both working and driving. Do you need second 15 break for next 6 n half. I would say not but my company says yes.

Quick question, I was loaded today and I had 32100 on and I refused to take it and tipped some off, could I have got away with it? I had a heated debate shall we say?! I am a new driver so I was sticking to my guns!!

Hi guys, please delete if not allowed. I’ll try and keep it brief but I’m doing an apprenticeship as a transport operations supervisor and part of that I get my tm cpc. I’m currently in a position where I’m working out what career path to take. Long story short I’m looking at pursuing a career as transport manager and I have a couple of questions.
Mainly how hard is it to get a job as an internal TM after being a new pass?
I’ve worked in the removals industry as a manager/hgv driver for the last 8 years (the other option is take on the removal company as it’s my dads and he’s retiring) but don’t have much experience in the world of general haulage so was looking at doing some artic driving for a year or so to get a little bit of experience within the haulage industry if that’s a good idea/needed?
What would be a rough wage I’d be earning as a new pass and experienced TM? I know area plays a part in this
I’m 23 so wondering if being young would hamper my chances of getting a job as...

Hello, looking for any advice regarding LTD drivers, a friend of mine whom is a self employed builder has also been doing some casual driving for a company on a self employed basis, he don’t own his own truck it’s purely him driving for someone else. They are now asking him to go LTD. Is there any benefits to him doing this?

I’m looking for some help please!
I’m just going through the paperwork for a Bus that has been converted that we’re interested in buying and have noticed that the VIN number is 2 digits different from that on the V5 logbook, one could easily be confused (it’s an S to a 5) but the other is a G to an L which feels like more of a red flag.
The other thing I’ve noticed is the Bus is UK manufactured in the late 80s, however the log book states it was first registered in 2003.
I’m wondering if this is another red flag or whether Buses aren’t registered with the DVLA for a logbook whilst being used commercially and the logbook was issued when it became a private vehicle?
It’s also listed as a private light goods vehicle on the V5 under taxation class but is 12 tonnes so definitely falls under private HGV - another 🚩??
The Bus is being sold with only a few MOT certificates and no other paperwork.

Hi all. How can it be cost effective for a London operator to do rail replacement work in Devon?

I know this topic is one that divides opinion, just wanting to get an idea if the sort of companies that have internal cameras in the cabs. I work for a very small general haulage company who are now looking at putting them in.
If you have them, how big is the company and what procedures are in place to follow the rules around monitoring, GDPR etc.

Hi all. Apologies for asking what could be a simple question, but Google isn't helping.
A friend of mine is looking to transport a race car to race meetings behind a 3.5 ton Iveco daily van on a trailer. (Uk only)
The car is not his, its his customers (he is a mechanic)
Would we be correct in assuming he needs std o licence with TM (either etm or in house) or does 3.5 ton not require the TM side of things. (Tacho is being sorted)

Does anyone have a list, or the correct knowledge, of which 4X4 Crew Cab Pick-Ups fall within certain weight limits? Specifically, those that do NOT require the vehicle to be on the O Licence, when used for towing.
Please note: I'm not asking about the Tachograph. Just the O licence requirements.

Can I legally drive back with this trailer like this? when empty I drover with out loaded as it is but I've been told its illegal is this true? because to me its the same as a flat bed or if I was to strap my curtains back on a really windy day.

What’s the maximum driving time possible in a working week? Most people seem to think it’s 56hrs, but I believe you can do 58hrs in a working week quite legally. 🤷🏼

Amazes me in this day and age that a company with 3 Coaches in Disney can allow all 3 to tick over to keep drivers cool whilst reading newspapers, if your going to do that why don't you all sit on one Coach with engine running???

When my shift starts after how many hours I'm allowed to have my break? How long should be my break?
Any advice would be appreciated.
