An over speed is recorded as a faulty speed limiter by the tachograph. Has no legal implications to the driver, but it has implications to the company, being framed as unfair competition etc. Hence companies don’t usually like it and try to prevent it. Tesco trucks have fifth wheel height 4”0’; 4”2’ and 4”3’, depending of truck make and model I work for Tesco and all our trucks are 4’2”. But regardless of that all Tesco trucks have stickers on the back of the cab stating 5th wheel height. I personally would not take a lorry out without knowing th...

Plus your fifth wheel height. Normally for Tesco trucks is 4’2” = 13’8”. Ultimately, that is always dependent on how good the company treats its drivers. If it’s a good one, it’s a pleasure to comply. If it’s not, they can take a hike. his contract is in breach of statute law then, because the parties can agree to any terms they wish but only as long as is not against the law.

Almost 20 years ago, I passed my test 9am and by 1pm was given the keys of a brand new artic and went from Cardiff to Manchester for a trailer swap. I’m yet to have my first rtc (knock on wood). He has a license, like I did, and has experience driving rígids which I never did. He’s not an accident ...
