I'm not DVSA but used to work with a good trustworthy company with good risk assessment so I've adopted this idea. (With load bearing curtains.
DVSA MAY say otherwise to be honest, if you are driving though a hot spot! Cover your ass.

Anything over 400kg needs securing down with additional straps.

I’ve been on Cx now 11 years . But last 4/5 years it’s been flooded with drivers and prices have gone down.
But the cost of Cx has doubled and Cx useless when there’s problems
Plus 3/4 months of the year it’s dead , I only use to sell extra work
I'd rather have the CX than not.
