Employ them on a zero hours contract so that you only pay them when they are working, not ideal but same as they are on now. surely that falls under unfair competition doesn’t it when all the other companies are having to pay their paye and ni, holidays and pension contributions? on zero hours you ...

I suggest your spouse make an agency who recruit your ltd drivers and supply them to your company... This is not a legal advice... seek a professional one... Please God, give me strength 🤦🤣 What planet are you on🤷🏻♂️🤣 believe it or not this is still quite common and yes the companies in question h...

As long as the inspection can be carried out adequately and as per requirements then it’s not an issue. But now they get under the vehicle would be the mystery part I’d say. Roadside inspections are left wide open to scrutiny. insertion?? 🤣 inspection. sorry not picking points but thought I’d misse...

Re: Is a company allowed to use the finance they have in the bank account which is used for the financial standings? For
You have to have ""available credit"" if you have an overdraft, credit cards or even a credit facility with your garage, that all counts. It doesn't need to be cash in the bank. I have never heard of a credit facility with a garage being accepted by the TC. nor me, talking out o...

Thank you for clarifying the situation. I'd also like to say, it's good to have you offering your professional advice on this forum for free, and hopefully, you'll gain some new clients 😀 but I still don’t get what it’s there for if it can’t be used? My understanding is that there has to be an AVER...

It isn't a matter of safety once it's back to the yard, but you haven't a spare truck and have a driver with nothing to drive, what do you do? You fit it, but you only have £10k in the bank and it's going to cost £10k to get back on the road, what do you do if you can't borrow the funds from elsewh...

Re: Is a company allowed to use the finance they have in the bank account which is used for the financial standings? For
Not all operators need a FS of £20k-£100k do they 🤷🏻♂️ If you only had 2 trucks and a engine blew on one of them, quite easy say goodbye to £10k+, how many small operators will have that coin to hand. The FS is a safety net and it's quite understandable why it has to be available and why we have t...

It's for emergencies, breakdowns, etc. You can use it Frankho, but it needs to be paid back asap. It can't be used just to help out with general day to day expenditure. If you need to use some of it to buy a truck, etc, then you are best to open a line of communication with the OTC and have a plan ...

Re: Is a company allowed to use the finance they have in the bank account which is used for the financial standings? For
I'm aware there are many ways of demonstrating FS, but many seem to think it can't be touched at any cost 🤷🏻♂️ I've had an operator in this position and the TC was fine with the situation as we communicated with the TC before the facility was used. We had a clear plan in place to reinstate the FS ...

Re: If I take over as TM and find they have let there operators license expire do I have to inform tc do I have to
A lot of ifs and buts, save egg on your face and begin a dialogue with operator to establish what is actually going on. You could possibly save a lot of stress upon yourself and quite possibly your job as tm too. The tc’s have created this hostility between operators and tms by installing a tm act a...

not really valid question cos after the fitter checks lorry for pmi do you then check it after him? You entrust a mechanic but not a “competent person”?
