you can’t add a break on your maximum working time it is 15 hours!!
Probably a silly question to some but I have been asked to start work at 4:15am, so what time am I to finish then?

Re: Probably a silly question to some but I have been asked to start work at 4:15am, so what time am I to finish then?
this is why we need the dcpc to educate people on the law. You can't do more than a 15hr duty not work unless you're using ferry mode to board/unboard
Re: Probably a silly question to some but I have been asked to start work at 4:15am, so what time am I to finish then?
you can't even do a ferry movement on a 15 hour day!!!
Ferry movement plus your daily rest must be completed within 13 hours or to put it another way only on a full daily rest.
So you need to be parked up by 12 hours of duty time to be able to take advantage of the full hour of movement.
Re: Probably a silly question to some but I have been asked to start work at 4:15am, so what time am I to finish then?
you can do 13 and have 11 off with interruptions for ferry movements. Depending on how long the crossing is and when from start of daily rest it is your "shift " could be more than 15hr interrupted for movement.Peteines wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 12:57 pmyou can't even do a ferry movement on a 15 hour day!!!

No you can't. The whole shift, plus ferry movement, plus a daily rest MUST be within a 24 hour period.GEMNIEN wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 12:57 pmyou can do 13 and have 11 off with interruptions for ferry movements. no it can't the rules have changed.GEMNIEN wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 12:57 pmyou can do 13 and have 11 off with interruptions for ferry movements. The ferry movement and the rest MUST be completed with 24 hours of starting that shift.
So to take the full hour of the ferry movement a driver must be parked up by 12 hours of duty time and started their daily rest.
A ferry movement can only interrupt a full daily rest period and NOT a reduced daily rest period.
So 12 duty plus 1 hour of movement time plus 11 hours of rests = 24 hours.

Re: Probably a silly question to some but I have been asked to start work at 4:15am, so what time am I to finish then?
this is why drivers with 30 - 40 or more years have to sit cpc because younger drivers like you can’t understand basic rules let alone basic arithmetic
15 + 9 = 24 when I went to school
Not 15 + 45 + 9
Re: Probably a silly question to some but I have been asked to start work at 4:15am, so what time am I to finish then?
not only young drivers but many older experienced drivers get it wrong.bobwiz wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 1:09 pmthis is why drivers with 30 - 40 or more years have to sit cpc because younger drivers like you can’t understand basic rules let alone basic arithmeticDuanett wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 1:08 pm*boxthabbLeryza wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 1:08 pm

I’d just like to know how he comes upto his answer
Irrespective of if it’s a wind up or not that’s how younger drivers get things wrong and end up in trouble
There are times for wind ups and this isn’t one of them the poster was asking a question not asking to be wound up

u need 2 45s in a 15 hrs shift so that make it a 16and half hour shift in that case so how do u get a 9 or 11 hours off in a 24 hr day

so does that mean if I do a 10 hour drive in a 15 hour shift I can work a 16:60 day and still manage to have my 9hrs rest within that 24hr period? If your cpc taught you that you may want to find a different cpc tutor abd also maybe lose that tacho card and get a new tacho head.Duanett wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 2:15 pmrules are rules mateCarlo.Journal wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 2:14 pm19.15 at the latest but don't forget 15 mins at start of shift and 15mins shut down time at end so realistic working time is 14.5 hrs so still 19.15 finish
