Hey Young, why is it too old, surely of its been maintained as it should etc it should be okay.
Or are you referring to potential clients that may not want an older truck which is ridiculous as older truck can be better maintained than newer ones.

From my experience quite a few 2014 trucks suffered with adblue issues as this was the year euro 6 took over. Having said that I have a 64 plate Scania on almost a mil kms and it has been as reliable as you would expect a truck of that vintage. Stay away from DAF of that year we had no end of issues with the one we purchased.

Look at the Kms. On a 14 plate expect at least 850'000-900'000 Kms.... I personally wouldn't buy a 14 plate... Have seen 18 plate MANs for £13k with 550'000 Kms.... Cheap and cheerful but they'll earn you the same 💰 as a trick pony at double price and they go forever if serviced properly.... And parts are cheap... Good luck

Find a late late Euro 5 Scania 440 with adblue. There are some ex Stobart trucks out there on 14 plates, and will be an awful lot less trouble than a Euro 6

I'd steer clear of traffic cones , kerbs and buying my own unit. Most work you'll get is bigger companies skimming off the top 1 2 or 3 times before you get paid 3month (90 days later) most companies go bust or get into debt because of this 90 days. So companies out sourcing . They get 1000 outsource it to some one for 800 then they will outsource it to someone then you'll get it for 5/600

Have a look at Renault Trucks Return Centre in Bedworth near Coventry. You can negotiate with them and can get a good deal.

2014 is going to be too old and will come with mechanical gremlins, buying a truck that old is not worth it. Maintaining a truck if you are the only driver is no problem but if multiple drivers have driven (abused!) then not worth buying/keeping a truck for that long

generally speaking, older trucks tend to be less reliable.
If you have secure work, it generally pays to lease a new vehicle.
2014 is certainly too old.
