I have a 15 plate 520 Scania with a recurring problem. In the last 6 months on 3 occasions it shudders and vibrates when taking off empty or or with a load, this lasts for say 3 days and then seems to clear itself, went to Scania the 1st time it happened who gave it a good check, even manually measuring the clutch (like new they said ), its a Opti cruise gearbox, anybody had this problem before?

should have mentioned when it gets to walking pace it’s absolutely fine gear changes are normal as is the engine, certainly no warning lights…may have to let It develop, which isn’t good

I’d go with injectors, could be wrong though so don’t take my word for it

Speak to the Scania guru Dan Jones he runs DJ Commercials who are Scania specialists. He’s a good lad

The pins wear out on the clutch pack too, there is a new modified version I had fitted to mine. Exact same truck as yours, it could be that

had similar probs with V4 Volvo turned out to be crank case pressure sensor

had similar problem with my V4 was water in fuel and shite in filter

I had this happen to my R520 the clutch plate was 90% but replaced then it was all good

Not possible scania never have faults
