Hi just out of curiosity, I'm working for an Amazon sub contractor as an employee and I get 144£ fixed per shift. So even if I work 15 hours the money stays the same? Is anybody here on a similar rate?

Drop trailer. Go solo park up and tell him to set relay on his personal phone

Sometimes shifts are 6-8 hours long so not bad
Re: Hi just out of curiosity, I'm working for an Amazon sub contractor as an employee and I get 144£ fixed per shift. So
when? Not in the last 6 months. More likely to do a 15 than one of those shifts

All amazon AFP are similar rates

Yep, but not all are equals. Some have some bonuses as well and some are not worth working for them

This is why mostly only new drivers on AFP work. Look at the state of most of their trucks it tells you enough, try to find one AFP Actros without the back of the cab smashed in except NK22ZWG that I was driving
Re: Hi just out of curiosity, I'm working for an Amazon sub contractor as an employee and I get 144£ fixed per shift. So
144÷15=9.60p/h (less than minimum wage on a 15 hour shift), theoretically over a week with 2x13 hour and 3x15hr shift it would average at £10.14p/h, also less than legal minimum wage, excuse my maths as I didn't do well at school, but that should be about there.
Re: Hi just out of curiosity, I'm working for an Amazon sub contractor as an employee and I get 144£ fixed per shift. So
is £144 gross or net? Do se know? that is true - but due to what was was said in the post ive taken it as gross on the average shift in most haulage firms being paid a basic rate are on flat rate of ~10 hours, if the percentage of tax and ni contributions are added ontop then if hes paid 10 hours in comparison a day it would be a rate in the region of £17.71p/h, if based on 12 hours a day it would take you a smidge below £15p/h, in afp economics it wouldn't be viable (so I'll go with it's an assumption)lewjock6n wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2024 6:49 pmis £144 gross or net? There will be breaks during those shifts, so pay will be above minimum wage.micklett wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2024 6:50 pmthat is true - but due to what was was said in the post ive taken it as gross on the average shift in most haulage firms being paid a basic rate are on flat rate of ~10 hours, if the percentage of tax and ni contributions are added ontop then if hes paid 10 hours in comparison a day it would be a rate in the region of £17.71p/h, if based on 12 hours a day it would take you a smidge below £15p/h, in afp economics it wouldn't be viable (so I'll go with it's an assumption)lewjock6n wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2024 6:49 pmis £144 gross or net?
