Vehicle Technician


Job Role: Vehicle Technician


Location: Poole


Rate - £16 - £20 per hour


Hours: 40hrs – Monday to Friday. Possible weekends and 24hr call outs.


The workshop works on a variety of vehicles such as HGV's, trailers, vans and cars, including our own fleet and customer vehicles.



Qualifications required:_ NVQ level 3 or City & Guilds level 3 in Vehicle Mechanics, Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.



Key responsibilities of a vehicle technician include:



Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and technical problems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
Repairing or replacing defective parts, components, or systems, ensuring they meet manufacturer specifications.
Conducting vehicle inspections to identify safety and performance concerns.
Following service manuals and technical specifications to perform repairs accurately.
Keeping detailed records of repairs, maintenance tasks, and parts used.
Communicating effectively with customers to explain diagnoses and repair recommendations.
Staying up-to-date with advances in automotive technology and industry trends through training and professional development.

A successful vehicle technician possesses strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and manual dexterity. They must also have excellent communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues effectively. Additionally, they should be able to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing technologies and procedures in the automotive industry.
