You would get away with that but be careful on axle weights most load rear too much you need weight on them front axles

Should have taken it. They would ignore a 1/4 - 1/2 ton over anyway.

It will do because the scales don’t work until it’s raisedPartell.Xion wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2024 5:50 pmHaha I've actually done that! luckily had some top machine drivers who weighed it for us! Don't think my scales work as they always show -1650kg or something when the body is level!

All Cemex own quarry bridges automatically capture weights, so you would not have been allowed to leave.

Generally speaking you would be ok 100-200kgs over however you are the driver and it's your license. Do what is right for you. Some will happily take the risk for 500kgs over but the way I see it is you ain't paid for taking risks. Good on you for sticking to your guns. It's your license.

put it this way I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. If they wanted more weight then get an artic. I can never understand the risks some take for no extra pay at the end of it. Your truck is plated for 32t that's it. Keep trucking friend you will find your way in this business over time.Partell.Xion wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2024 6:00 pmThanks mate, seems a lot of hardmen and billy big bollox on here, all ok until something hits the fan then see who the big boy is eh! crack on drive.damieuxie wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2024 5:59 pm Generally speaking you would be ok 100-200kgs over however you are the driver and it's your license. If you loaded out of a McGee site Tom would go mad if you were under 40 tons.

If you got a digger driver to take 100 lgs off you have found a good one,100 kgs over ain’t worth worrying about unless the quarry won’t print the ticket. But u will soon learn with muckshifting u maybe 17ton then the next bucket ur have a ton over and you won’t be able to keep pissing aabout trying to get the digger driver to take some out

I’d say if you have a ticket saying 32,100 that would imply you knowingly left the quarry over weight. Better to be safe then sorry
Re: Quick question, I was loaded today and I had 32100 on and I refused to take it and tipped some off, could I have got
Good for you. A lot of weighbridges won't print a ticket if you're over.
To be fair it's doubtful you'd be in trouble for 100kg.
However, if you do get stopped it looks better to be under than over.

Re: Quick question, I was loaded today and I had 32100 on and I refused to take it and tipped some off, could I have got
My view is, if your using scales or experience then a couple hundered kg isn't an issue. If a weighbridge says you're overweight then dvsa will screw you if caught
Re: Quick question, I was loaded today and I had 32100 on and I refused to take it and tipped some off, could I have got
Wait till you get to the weighbridge and you ring up 36500 and the gate man looks at you like your a lunatic
Re: Quick question, I was loaded today and I had 32100 on and I refused to take it and tipped some off, could I have got
If it's washed coal you used to be to get away with it if not stick to your weight limit you will end up playing the fines
Re: Quick question, I was loaded today and I had 32100 on and I refused to take it and tipped some off, could I have got
Being a new driver my advice to you is to talk to other drivers running in the area. Most aggregate firms won't let you out over weight, muck a way jobs are a whole different ball game lol. You refuse to take that 100k you and your lorry will be banned from the site.
